Lerita

Lerita, also known by its screen name starfruit_SR, is a character created by me. It is the sixth character in my OC canon.

Lerita was created out of a desire to have a speedrunning-inspired character, as I was deeply into the activity at the time. Over time, Lerita's character focus drifted away from being exclusively speedrun-focused into more of a variety Twitch streamer. Lerita was created in tandem with Dakota, a character of Allister's creation.

Lerita as it is depicted was designed by myself.

About this character

Lerita is a speedrunner and variety Twitch streamer with a career spanning over ten years. It rose to prominence after quickly ascending the leaderboards for the 120 star category of Super Mario 64. Lerita currently resides with housemate and streaming partner Dakota.

Taken in comparison to its contemporaries, Lerita's personality is generally subdued and confident. Its reactions are memetic for being underwhelming compared to the importance of many of its accomplishments; on the rare occasion it does get excited, any clips typically go extremely viral. Lerita usually performs very well in competitive settings, both in speedrunning and casual contexts. It does not use a facecam while streaming, considering it distracting, but will voluntarily appear on camera in streams and videos that are not its own.

Lerita's design has been largely consistent, but I have yet to commission a fully-featured reference piece for it. Its most recognizable feature are its glasses; Lerita is severely hypermetropic and requires special glasses to see properly. Lerita dyes its hair dark purple. Lerita's wardrobe typically consists of loose and comfortable clothing suitable for long streaming sessions.

Character lore

Lerita first joined Twitch shortly after its 16th birthday, and began streaming speedruns of Super Mario 64, particularly the 120 star category. Its presence on the site regularly grew over the next few years, and Lerita became a Twitch partner as starfruit_SR at age 19. After becoming the first to achieve a sub-1:40 in 120 star, Lerita's following exploded to such magnitude that it suffered a brief creator breakdown.

Lerita first met its current roommate and streaming partner, Dakota (GlitzerPOP), at a streaming convention; the two of them bonded over mutual interests and eventually moved into an apartment together. Dakota serves as a moderator in Lerita's stream chat, and vice versa. Lerita's typical streams occur nightly from Thursday to Monday, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays taken off for personal obligations.

Lerita's current personal best in SM64 120 star is 1:35:47. Its stream schedule is balanced between speedrunning and general variety gaming.
